Job Summary

The Security Operations Officer will serve as a key member of the Westgate Resorts security team, responsible for monitoring and responding to security incidents across the company's properties. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor CCTV and access control systems to ensure the safety and security of guests and employees.
  • Act as a communication lead and point of contact between response personnel and senior leadership during critical and non-critical emergency events.
  • Provide accurate information during emergency events, from report to resolution.
  • Update and maintain accurate attendance, communication, and reporting logs to ensure seamless incident response.
  • Assist in researching past incidents and compiling requested footage to support incident response and prevention efforts.
  • Provide situational awareness of issues occurring throughout all locations by monitoring systems, news media reporting, and establishing inter-group communication with other support elements.
  • Utilize geographic information systems to identify potential risks and incidents that may impact the company's assets.
  • Provide initial or secondary response to incidents involving police, fire department, and medical personnel.
  • Maintain a uniformed security presence at specified company interests.
  • Manage entry and exit control points at designated properties.
  • Conduct safety inspections as directed by policy and established procedure.
  • Maintain individual Security activity records, checklists, and logs to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Write detailed and accurate incident reports using computer software and emails.
  • Respond to basic service requests and perform preventative maintenance on electronic guest room security systems and in-room electronic safes, if applicable.
  • Perform lost and found inventory control tasks to ensure the safe and secure storage of lost items.
  • Perform traffic control and parking enforcement duties as required.
  • Respond to security-related complaints and take appropriate actions to resolve issues.
  • Assist Westgate Security personnel in the performance of their duties as requested and/or required.
  • Perform key control and accounting duties to ensure the secure storage and management of company assets.
  • Perform any other task requested by management, within the scope of corporate policy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license to drive company golf carts.
  • Required to pass a background check, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States.
