About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Systems Engineer to join our Nuclear Safety Cross Check Analysis (NSCCA) program in Layton, UT. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of nuclear weapon systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Assessment and Analysis: Perform thorough assessments of systems, reviewing software to identify flaws and suggest improvements.
  • Code Examination and Testing: Conduct in-depth code examination, analysis, and testing to ensure the system's design and functionality meet safety and security standards.
  • System Knowledge Acquisition: Quickly acquire system knowledge to understand the design and functionality of systems, platforms, applications, and their interfaces.
  • Hardware and Software Identification: Identify the hardware and software portions of systems for safety and mission-critical functionality.
  • Embedded Software Evaluation: Perform detailed evaluation of embedded software to verify that software requirements are correctly implemented in the design and code of embedded computers and that the resulting code does not contain embedded safety hazards.
  • Requirements and Test Procedures: Identify requirements, design, and test procedures that will ensure the system will perform as expected.
  • Documentation and Presentations: Document analysis performed with resulting anomalies identified and present findings to peers, customers, and management.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor of Science (STEM) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Math, or Physics.
  • Programming Experience: Experience and/or coursework in any object-oriented programming language.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to identify logic errors, code inconsistencies, and inefficiencies, safety hazards associated with software and/or hardware design languages, code design, and requirement specifications.
  • Communication Skills: Technical writing experience and the ability to write technically and grammatically correct documentation.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Must be self-directed and able to work independently and with a team, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Citizenship and Security Clearance: U.S. citizenship required, with the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.
