Job Overview

This role is pivotal in supporting the Fast-Rising B-Plug (FRBP) Energy Storage System Replacement (ESS-R) initiative within the Ground Mechanical Division, focusing on the acquisition of access control technology essential for the MMIII weapon system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer expert guidance and assistance to MMIII program managers regarding all aspects related to ESS throughout the acquisition process.
  • Develop and evaluate supplier specifications in relation to system requirements, ensuring supplier product performance meets established standards. Participate in or lead investigations into root causes and corrective actions as necessary.
  • Oversee the complete product development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with documented engineering protocols.
  • Conduct system engineering tasks, including the formulation and management of systems-level requirements, and provide support for functional bench testing and qualification assessments in electronic and environmental laboratory settings.
  • Facilitate engineering support for production and depot evaluations, as well as the repair of field returns. May also manage scheduling, work assignments, and progress reporting to stakeholders, ensuring technical quality and adherence to budget and timelines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a scientific discipline, with a strong foundation in electrical engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a comparable field.
  • Demonstrated experience in a government contracting environment.
  • An active U.S. Government Secret security clearance or higher is required.
  • Proven ability to facilitate cross-departmental communication and collaboration.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently, with familiarity in Air Force and government processes.
  • Highly organized and adept at driving tasks to completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience with ICBM systems.
  • Experience in technical writing.
  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method and baseline disciplines.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and statutory documentation requirements.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in engineering software, technical drawings, and related documentation.

Compensation and Benefits:

The full-time salary range for this position is $156,330. This range is based on market pay structures and individual salaries may vary based on factors such as business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications including skills, education, and experience.
