About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Systems Engineer to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our Nuclear Safety Cross Check Analysis (NSCCA) program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of nuclear weapon systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Assessment and Analysis: Perform thorough assessments of systems, reviewing software to identify flaws and suggest improvements.
  • Code Examination and Testing: Conduct in-depth code examination, analysis, and testing to ensure software requirements are correctly implemented.
  • System Knowledge Acquisition: Quickly acquire system knowledge to understand design and functionality, identifying hardware and software portions of systems for safety and mission critical functionality.
  • Embedded Software Evaluation: Perform detailed evaluation of embedded software to verify correct implementation of software requirements and identify potential safety hazards.
  • Requirements and Test Procedures: Identify requirements, design, and test procedures to ensure system performance as expected.
  • Documentation and Presentation: Document analysis performed, including anomalies identified, and present findings to peers, customers, and management.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor of Science (STEM) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Math, or Physics.
  • Programming Experience: Experience and/or coursework in object-oriented programming languages.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to identify logic errors, code inconsistencies, and inefficiencies, as well as safety hazards associated with software and/or hardware design languages, code design, and requirement specifications.
  • Communication Skills: Technical writing experience and the ability to write technically and grammatically correct documentation.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Self-directed and able to work independently and with a team, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Clearance and Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required, with the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Programming Experience: Experience with object-oriented programming languages.
  • Integrated Development Environments: Experience with Integrated Development Environments.
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering: Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
