Position Overview:
As a vital member of the Nuclear Safety Cross Check Analysis (NSCCA) program, you will contribute to the Air Force's essential mission of safeguarding nuclear weapon systems. Your role will involve comprehensive analysis and evaluation of software related to nuclear weapon systems, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense Nuclear Surety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of systems, focusing on software analysis to identify flaws and propose enhancements.
  • Engage in code examination, analysis, and testing activities.
  • Possibly utilize system simulators and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Review and analyze various systems, platforms, applications, and their interfaces to gain a swift understanding of their design and functionality.
  • Identify critical hardware and software components necessary for safety and mission success.
  • Perform in-depth evaluations of embedded software to ensure that software requirements are accurately reflected in the design and code, eliminating potential safety hazards.
  • Define requirements, design, and testing protocols to confirm system performance aligns with expectations.
  • Document analyses conducted, highlighting any anomalies discovered.
  • Communicate findings effectively to peers, clients, and management.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
  • Experience or coursework in any object-oriented programming language.
  • Ability to detect logic errors, inconsistencies in code, and safety risks associated with software and hardware design.
  • Proficient technical writing skills, capable of producing clear and accurate documentation.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming languages.
  • Experience with Integrated Development Environments.
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Salary Range:
The typical salary range for this position is between $66,000 and $106,000, reflecting the level of experience and other relevant factors.
