About the Role

The User Experience Researcher will play a crucial role in supporting the mission of ACL Digital by collaborating with product designers and product managers throughout the entire product development lifecycle. This includes identifying foundational user needs during the discovery phase, measuring impact on the user after a product or feature has launched, and serving as a voice for the user.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct primary and secondary user research to gain a deep understanding of user needs and behaviors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate research topics, and develop user research strategies and methodologies.
  • Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written and oral presentations, and mentor and coach junior UX researchers on the team.
  • Perform usability studies with consumers, and use a diverse set of UX research tools to gather and analyze data.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in UX research, with a strong background in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment, and ability to communicate and collaborate with state-wide partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into simple ideas.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and handle simultaneous requests.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, such as graphic design, marketing, or communications.
  • 2 years of professional experience in design, communications, management, or testing.
  • 1 year of user-centered design experience, and 1 year of user research and analytics experience.
Working Conditions

The User Experience Researcher will work as part of an iterative team using agile sprints, and will be expected to maintain and provide written documentation on any work performed. The engagement will be for a term of up to 12 months, and all work will be performed in eight (8) hour shifts, Monday to Friday, excluding State holidays.

The contractor will share a dedicated office space, and will be provided with all computer hardware and software needed to execute and perform the duties for this program. A background check will be required, and the contractor employee must always display an access badge while present in state facilities.
