Job Summary

This position is responsible for assisting in the conduct of research experiments, managing transgenic mutant mice, and providing administrative support to the research team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research experiments and collect data using complex laboratory techniques and procedures.
  • Manage transgenic mutant mice, including breeding and genotyping.
  • Assist in data interpretation and analysis.
  • Report on the status of research activities.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment and apparatus.
  • Formulate and prepare scientific solutions and media.
  • Recruit study participants and order supplies.
  • May assist in designing, developing, and modifying research experiments and procedures.
Requirements
  • Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and high school level education.
  • Four years of related work experience and an Associate's degree.
  • Little or no work experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability in rodent handling and performing assays on rodents.
  • Previous skills, ability, or knowledge of animal behavioral testing.
  • Ability to work independently, within a team, and under supervision.
  • Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented in experimental work and record keeping.
Working Conditions

This position requires occasional weekend and evening hours.
