Aerospace Structural Analyst

We are seeking a skilled engineer with a background in structural analysis to contribute to the development of the structural engineering analysis package. This package is essential for demonstrating compliance of tooling fixtures, including assembly and lifting jigs, within an aerospace manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate will conduct analyses, research, and provide insights on product designs or operations involving various structural materials, including metals, composites, and non-metallic materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural analysis using FEMAP/NASTRAN for both metallic and composite structures.
- Generate comprehensive reports to support completed analyses and review reports prepared by peers.
- Effectively present and clarify structural challenges and solutions to management and customer representatives.
- Collaborate with team members in meetings and one-on-one discussions to address complex engineering challenges.
- Assess engineering products for adherence to established standards, procedures, and specifications.
- Perform static and dynamic analyses for a range of tooling fixtures and structures, from simple to complex.
Core Competencies:
- Ability to analyze complex problems through hand calculations and finite element methods.
- Familiarity with stress analysis techniques, concepts, and practices.
- Basic knowledge of computer-aided design tools (e.g., CATIA/NX) and the ability to manipulate data sets.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and specifications in accordance with ASME standards, including GD&T.
- Strong communication skills to interact with various levels of leadership and resolve technical issues effectively.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in aerospace industry standards and proficiency in 3D modeling tools such as NX and CATIA.
- Ability to create fabrication drawings with accurate views and dimensions in compliance with ASME standards.
- Experience in fabrication considering factors like accessibility, economy, and performance requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in a STEM field with 3 years of experience in tooling fabrication or production processes.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineering License (preferably from California) or actively pursuing PE.
- Experience in aerospace tooling and mechanics, particularly related to stress analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
