Job Summary
The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Test Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Structural Dynamics and Environments Department, you will provide technical expertise in the field of dynamic environments and environmental test to support our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and procedures to ensure the safety and reliability of aerospace systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and test aerospace systems, including structural dynamics, acoustics, and vibration analysis
- Provide technical assessments and recommendations to customers on test requirements, data analysis, and risk assessments
- Participate in design reviews, test readiness reviews, and failure review boards to ensure the quality and reliability of aerospace systems
- Lead and coordinate teams of technical contributors to deliver complex test projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, such as mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or physics
- Minimum 8 years of industry-related experience in structural mechanics engineering, with a focus on dynamic environments and environmental test
- Strong technical leadership skills and experience with analytical and test techniques for shock, vibration, and acoustics environments
- Experience with applying, editing, tailoring, and maintaining shock, vibration, and acoustics environmental standards
- Ability to build and lead interdisciplinary teams, both internal and external, and foster effective interpersonal relationships with management, peers, and customers
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a STEM field or related discipline, with experience related to structural mechanics engineering
- Experience with Missile Defense Agency customer programs and familiarity with SMC-S-016 and other military test standards
- Current and active Secret security clearance, issued by the U.S. government
