Position Summary

The Finance division at Aerospace is seeking a Financial Analyst (Finance Analyst Specialist I/II). This role encompasses responsibilities such as annual and multi-year budgeting, crafting financial forecasts and planning scenarios, and establishing financial and operational metrics, dashboards, and capital expenditure planning. The position acts as a reliable financial consultant to various levels within the Engineering & Technology Group (ETG), delivering essential financial data, trend analyses, and predictive insights necessary for Aerospace to fulfill its value proposition to clients and achieve its objectives.

Work Arrangement

This role operates under a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence at the designated campus location three to four days per week, with one to two days available for remote work as business conditions permit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and monitor overhead and capital budget allocations along with associated metrics.
  • Assist management in preparing annual budget requests.
  • Track budget performance through monthly reporting on budget execution.
  • Respond to ad hoc data inquiries and analytical report requests.
  • Advise Finance leadership on financial trends, reporting unit performance, and suggest corrective actions to meet financial objectives.
  • Analyze financial results against plans and forecasts, identify trends, and communicate reliable metrics to management for informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with managers, clients, and purchasing agents to submit purchase requests.
  • Complete and review cost transfers to ensure accuracy in cost allocations.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and track the procurement of necessary equipment and services to achieve divisional goals and ensure timely budget execution.

Qualifications for Success

Minimum requirements for the Financial Analyst Specialist I include:

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • One to two years of experience in budgeting and forecasting.

For the Financial Analyst Specialist II, the following additional qualifications are required:

  • Three to five years of experience in budgeting and forecasting.

Preferred Qualifications

It would be advantageous to possess one or more of the following:

  • Experience in a U.S. government contracting environment (Federal Acquisition Regulations - FAR).
  • Familiarity with governmental and government contractor budgeting systems and practices.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting standards (CAS).
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx.
  • Prior experience in a research or Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) setting.
