About the Role
The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Test Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Structural Dynamics and Environments Department, you will provide technical expertise in the field of dynamic environments and environmental test to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive test requirements for Missile Defense Agency and other government programs
- Participate in requirements tailoring and implementation, assessing system design options and performance tradeoffs
- Provide technical assessments of acoustics, shock, vibration analysis, test requirements, and data results
- Support development, qualification, and acceptance testing of units and payloads
- Participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, and Failure Review Boards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
- Minimum of 8 years of industry-related experience in structural mechanics engineering
- Demonstrated strong technical leadership skills and familiarity with analytical and test techniques for shock, vibration, and acoustics environments
- Experience with applying, editing, tailoring, and maintaining shock, vibration, and acoustics environmental standards
- Ability to build interdisciplinary teams and foster effective interpersonal relationships
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a STEM field or related discipline
- Experience with Missile Defense Agency customer programs
- Familiarity with SMC-S-016 and other military tests standards
