Position Overview:

The Senior Internal Auditor plays a crucial role in evaluating and enhancing the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. This position involves assessing operational efficiency, financial reporting accuracy, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards while also identifying, investigating, and preventing various types of fraud.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:
  • Conduct comprehensive corporate audits and develop tailored audit programs based on assessed risks and discussions with management.
  • Analyze and review documentation, including policies, procedures, risk assessments, and financial statements.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals while mentoring junior staff and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision to establish audit objectives, create risk-based testing plans, and apply professional judgment to meet these objectives.
  • Lead audit planning, present audit findings, follow up on recommendations, and conduct exit interviews with relevant personnel.
  • Review the work of colleagues to ensure timely and accurate completion of audit engagements and reports.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned and stay informed on current industry trends, financial reporting, and regulatory developments.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, along with over 7 years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), auditing standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in complex and dynamic situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for engaging in discussions in both individual and group settings.
  • Proficiency in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
