Position Overview:

As a Commercial Electrical Systems Engineer at Career Collective, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and execution of electrical systems tailored for commercial infrastructures. Your primary focus will be to ensure that these systems are not only safe and dependable but also comply with all applicable regulatory standards. Collaboration with architects, project managers, and fellow engineers will be essential to deliver innovative and cost-efficient solutions for various commercial undertakings.

Core Responsibilities:

Electrical System Development:

  • Design and engineer electrical systems for commercial properties, encompassing lighting, power distribution, fire alarm systems, and emergency backup solutions.
  • Produce comprehensive electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout plans utilizing CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Ensure that all designs adhere to local, state, and national electrical codes and standards, including the NEC (National Electrical Code).

System Evaluation and Implementation:

  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical systems to verify their operational integrity and compliance with design specifications.

Compliance Assurance:

  • Guarantee that all electrical designs and installations conform to relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.

Budgeting and Cost Analysis:

  • Develop cost estimates for electrical systems and assist in the overall project financial planning.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction while ensuring quality and safety standards are upheld.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in electrical engineering, particularly in commercial projects.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar applications).
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical codes and standards, especially NEC.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and collaborate within a team-oriented environment.

Certifications:

Possession of EIT or PE certification is preferred.
