Position Overview:

As a Commercial Electrical Design Engineer at Career Collective, you will play a pivotal role in the creation, development, and execution of electrical systems tailored for commercial infrastructures. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that these systems are not only safe and dependable but also compliant with industry regulations. Collaboration with architects, project managers, and fellow engineers will be essential to provide innovative and cost-efficient solutions for various commercial endeavors.

Core Responsibilities:

Electrical System Development:

  • Design and engineer electrical systems for commercial properties, encompassing lighting, power distribution, fire alarm systems, and emergency backup solutions.
  • Produce comprehensive electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout designs utilizing CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Verify that designs adhere to local, state, and national electrical codes and standards, including the NEC (National Electrical Code).

System Evaluation and Implementation:

  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical systems to confirm they operate effectively and meet design criteria.

Compliance Assurance:

  • Guarantee that all electrical designs and installations comply with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Generate cost estimates for electrical systems and assist in overall project financial planning.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction while upholding quality and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in electrical engineering, particularly within commercial projects.

Essential Skills:

  • Expertise in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent tools).
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and standards, especially NEC.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively within a team setting.

Certifications:

Preferred certifications include EIT or PE.
