Position Title: Environmental Scientist

Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Scientist to engage in various site assessment and remediation initiatives, environmental due diligence evaluations, and compliance projects across Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting comprehensive reports that detail environmental monitoring activities in line with regulatory permit obligations.
  • Overseeing and executing field operations, including soil and groundwater sampling, well installations, and stormwater and waste assessments.
  • Conducting Phase I/II/III Environmental Site Assessments and preparing summary reports, compliance documentation, remedial action strategies, and various regulatory permits.
  • Delivering on-site Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) support at client locations.
  • Analyzing and interpreting environmental data effectively.
  • Maintaining clear and effective communication with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations in Virginia is advantageous; a commitment to learning relevant regulations is essential.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification and behavior-based safety training are preferred.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to acquire new skills and knowledge.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of identifying and addressing daily operational needs to fulfill client requirements.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and readiness to travel as needed.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment health assessment is mandatory.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience in site assessments, investigations, remediation, and regulatory compliance support.
