POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is pivotal in executing maintenance operations that support the overall functionality of the facility. The individual will oversee the upkeep of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. A strong focus will be placed on managing process control systems, pneumatic instruments, and electronic devices. Collaboration with the maintenance planner, team leads, and operational staff is essential for the successful execution of tasks.

It is imperative to maintain the facility in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to established procedures and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Proactively identifying potential issues, communicating them, and working towards solutions with both the Maintenance and Operations teams is a critical aspect of this position. Continuous professional development and formal training to enhance skill sets are vital.

The ideal candidate will be self-driven, collaborative, dependable, patient, respectful, and genuinely enthusiastic about their responsibilities.

A consistent work history and the ability to adapt schedules based on operational requirements are necessary.

CORE FUNCTIONS:
The following responsibilities are not exhaustive. The employee may be required to undertake additional job-related tasks as directed by the maintenance or operations supervisor. Job duties may evolve based on the company's needs.

Calibration of both new and existing instruments, including control valves and controllers.

Monitoring and troubleshooting control loops, instruments, and entire control systems.

Replacing, repairing, and recalibrating faulty components and instruments, along with associated tubing and wiring.

Participation in formal training programs as deemed necessary by the company.

Proper utilization and maintenance of tools and testing equipment.

Maintaining daily logs for maintenance and plant calibration.

Availability for emergency contact and response as required.

Working a schedule that may include weekends, rotating shifts, and/or overtime.

Preparing and analyzing written or computer data.

Conducting visual inspections for minor defects and small components.

Operating motor vehicles or equipment as needed.

Flexibility to work overtime when necessary.

Providing assistance to the Operations department as required.

Completing any other assigned tasks.

Performing skilled repair and maintenance operations using hand and power tools, hydraulic presses, welding equipment, and electronic diagnostics.

Efficiently executing work assignments based on directives from the planner and lead mechanic.

Ensuring that work quality and performance meet the highest standards.

These will be evaluated by the Maintenance Supervisor/Maintenance Manager (Work is assessed through:
Work orders, emergency repairs, line inspections to identify necessary repairs, assisting production, meetings, and documentation completion, etc.)

Maintaining comprehensive and accurate records of all maintenance activities.

Ensuring that all work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, emergency calls, and parts utilized are documented in the maintenance planning system to capture all essential information.

Regularly touring and networking with other departments. Examining systems, tools, and facilities. Analyzing information to determine necessary services or repairs. Sharing data with the maintenance planning system, lead, planner, and supervisor.

Assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of maintenance policies and procedures.


Inspecting and monitoring work in operational areas, assessing tools and equipment to identify and rectify unsafe conditions or procedural violations.


Inspecting, testing, and measuring completed work using tools and gauges to verify compliance with standards and repair requirements.

Requesting materials and supplies, including tools, equipment, and replacement parts.

Interpreting specifications, blueprints, schematics, and work orders to facilitate repairs.

Coordinating with the lead, planner, and supervisor to correct or modify work instructions that guide the Maintenance department.

Additional duties as assigned by the Planner/Lead/Supervisor/Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


A High School diploma or GED is required; a minimum of two (2) years in Industrial Automation or Controls Technology with at least 5 years of experience is essential; the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is necessary, which includes being self-motivated, accepting responsibilities, completing assigned tasks, and engaging proactively in all team activities.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Professionalism and respect are expected in all interactions. One to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Familiarity with CMMS and/or other maintenance planning software; ability to read blueprints and schematics.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

Knowledge of CIP/SIP (clean in progress) procedures

Awareness of safety programs and procedures

Availability and willingness to be contacted by phone in emergencies and to work both fixed and flexible schedules, including weekends, late shifts, and overtime.
