OVERVIEW

Act as a technical authority within the facility, ensuring optimal operational performance through effective preventative maintenance and a skilled maintenance team.

Oversee and execute maintenance engineering tasks, including both preventive and corrective work orders. Develop and manage maintenance programs to minimize downtime. Diagnose and resolve technical maintenance challenges.
Manage and coordinate all materials and supplies necessary for replacement, repair, facility expansion, and enhancement projects. Establish criteria and performance specifications for facilities and equipment to meet specific operational and safety standards. Exhibit comprehensive knowledge in maintenance engineering and demonstrate advanced skills with significant expertise. Work autonomously and serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute plant capital projects, encompassing scope definition, bidding, submission of capital requests for internal review, project completion coordination, and adherence to budget constraints.


  • Conduct replacement evaluations of equipment, taking into account space costs, depreciation, service life, maintenance expenses, and provide recommendations to the production manager.


  • Direct and manage plans and specifications for external contracting work, including the bidding process, prioritization, and obtaining corporate purchasing and management approvals.


  • Propose necessary expense or capital projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Develop and manage maintenance programs to ensure minimal downtime. Diagnose and resolve technical maintenance issues.


  • Supervise assigned staff and contract personnel. Create training programs to address developmental needs.
  • Formulate short- and long-term planning, objectives, programs, goals, and departmental budget and cost control measures.
  • Coordinate maintenance and capital-related material requirements, including material receipt and service payment approvals. Oversee maintenance parts and supply inventories, including purchasing activities, supply shortages, and report generation.


  • Maintain effective preventative maintenance programs for facility systems, electrical distribution, plant utilities, architecture, process instrumentation, and all production machinery and equipment through assigned staff and external contractors to support sustained plant operations and efficiency.


  • Ensure all facility environmental policies and procedures comply with current guidelines and regulatory requirements, and complete proper reporting.


  • Conduct routine environmental audits and maintain facility records in accordance with environmental and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Prepare and submit all necessary regulatory environmental permit renewal applications.


  • Perform periodic wastewater testing and reporting for by-products discharge. Maintain an inventory of all facility waste streams, ensure proper disposal, and implement waste reduction strategies.


  • Adhere to all good manufacturing practices (GMP) and operate in alignment with corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation standards.
