We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our glass container production team at Ardagh Group. As a key member of our manufacturing operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective production of high-quality glass containers.
Key Responsibilities- Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the batch house, furnaces, hot end production, cold end production, and warehouse operations to meet and exceed plant key performance indicators.
- Team Leadership: Assist in people development of the operations team, including succession planning, identifying training needs, recruiting and interviewing, annual salary reviews, and performance reviews.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the manufacturing of glass containers is within customer specifications and quality standards are strictly adhered to while meeting the financial objectives of the plant or department.
- Process Improvement: Monitor and communicate process improvement initiatives and make recommendations to improve the manufacturing process and process control.
- Customer Relations: Maintain good customer relations through regular communication and maintaining the highest level of quality.
- Plant Maintenance: Work in coordination with plant engineering team to adhere to and improve on plant maintenance program.
- Plant Manager Responsibilities: Assume Plant Manager responsibilities as required.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing in a manufacturing environment.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of experience working in packaging or glass industry.
- Skills: Proficient working with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Travel: Travel up to 10%.
- Education: Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, or related field.
- Industry Experience: Prior experience working in the glass container industry.
- Leadership Experience: Prior experience leading a unionized workforce.
- ERP Experience: Prior experience working with SAP ERP.
- Certification: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified.
