Position Overview:
The Electrical Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in providing specialized knowledge within the manufacturing facility.
This position encompasses various aspects of electrical engineering related to heavy industrial machinery, conveyor systems, batch processing, and other functions associated with glass container production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate innovative solutions to enhance production capacity while adhering to customer quality requirements and aligning with the corporate capital strategy.
- Oversee all electrical operations and personnel, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with contractors and fellow engineers during the implementation of field projects.
- Assess new technologies and equipment to evaluate their potential benefits for the manufacturing process.
- Investigate issues related to electrical equipment and devise strategies to optimize performance and output.
- Lead or participate in root cause analyses for equipment malfunctions.
- Document maintenance procedures to ensure the effective upkeep of manufacturing machinery.
- Provide ongoing operational support and troubleshooting for electrical system challenges.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to support preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives for electrical systems.
- Assist in the execution of corporate capital projects, collaborating with the engineering team to identify optimal solutions for the facility.
- Educate plant operations and maintenance staff on the operation and troubleshooting of electrical systems used in glass bottle production.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in designing and creating technical drawings for various manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs.
- Previous experience in glass container production equipment and processes.
- Background in preventive and/or predictive maintenance programs and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD.
