The Service Consultant plays a crucial role in ensuring that each step of the service experience is executed with professionalism and integrity. This individual will be tasked with managing documentation, recommendations, pricing, sales, communication, and teamwork, all while prioritizing the needs and commitments to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome all clients in a timely and professional manner.
- Collect essential vehicle details while conducting a thorough inspection.
- Obtain relevant customer information for documentation, communication, and scheduling purposes.
- Identify the customer's primary concern or requirement before discussing additional maintenance needs.
- Take necessary actions to confirm vehicle condition, including conducting road tests.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships that promote repeat and referral business.
- Address all customer complaints promptly and resolve them to the customer's satisfaction.
- Organize all incoming and future appointments in the Customer Relationship Management System.
- Inform customers about the option to schedule appointments online.
- Engage with each customer in a manner that ensures they feel comfortable and well-informed.
- Provide detailed status updates to customers until the vehicle is delivered.
- Conduct an active delivery of the vehicle, explaining the work performed and associated charges, leaving no questions unanswered.
- Maintain Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) at or above the established standards.
- Meet the dealership's benchmarks for repair and order production.
- Adhere to all Safeguards rules and regulations.
- Ensure that customer service files are current and easily accessible.
- Keep a clean and organized workspace.
- Exhibit high standards of employee conduct, including reliability, punctuality, courtesy, appearance, and professionalism.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must be able to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S., possess a valid driver's license, and maintain a professional appearance.
Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- One year of experience in automotive retail service consulting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with Reynolds & Reynolds DMS is advantageous but not essential.
- A strong track record of positive customer satisfaction outcomes is preferred.
- Knowledge of vehicles and repair processes is beneficial.
- Results-oriented mindset with the ability to plan and achieve business objectives within set timelines.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees and customers at all levels.
- Excellent communication skills to convey critical information to the appropriate parties.
