POSITION SUMMARY:
This role involves overseeing and coordinating nursing services for individuals with developmental disabilities within a specialized facility. The Clinical Nurse Consultant is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare and support to residents, while also managing a team of nursing and support staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. **Supervision of Nursing Services:**
- Oversee the nursing care provided to residents, ensuring compliance with established protocols and standards.
- Coordinate the activities of non-professional staff in relation to the health and well-being of residents.
2. **Clinical Care Administration:**
- Administer treatments and medications that require professional nursing expertise, including IV starts, phlebotomy, and monitoring of post-operative patients.
- Participate in crisis intervention strategies to prevent unnecessary hospitalizations.
3. **Documentation and Communication:**
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of nursing activities, including daily logs and progress notes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans based on thorough assessments.
4. **Incident Management:**
- Conduct initial assessments and provide appropriate care following any incidents or injuries.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of incidents, including compliance with regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A valid nursing license is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel as necessary.
- Certification in CPR and other relevant training is essential.
