POSITION SUMMARY
The Automotive Service Consultant plays a crucial role in facilitating automotive services and repairs. This position involves identifying performance issues and requested services, confirming warranty and service contract coverage, preparing estimates, and documenting repair orders while maintaining strong customer relationships and accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses automotive issues by attentively listening to customer descriptions of symptoms, clarifying details, conducting inspections, taking test drives, reviewing vehicle maintenance history, and assessing service schedules.
- Confirms warranty and service contract eligibility by reviewing documentation and explaining terms and conditions.
- Creates cost estimates by calculating materials, supplies, and labor, including customer payment calculations and deductibles.
- Prepares repair orders (RO) by detailing symptoms, identified problems, and necessary repairs and services; securing customer approvals; and entering data into the service management system.
- Fosters customer relationships by clearly communicating estimates and anticipated vehicle return times; obtaining customer consent for estimates; providing contact information; addressing inquiries and concerns; and coordinating towing and temporary transportation as needed.
- Maintains automotive records by documenting issues and planned corrective actions.
- Enhances professional knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and reviewing manufacturer publications.
- Contributes to the organization's reputation by taking ownership of new and diverse requests and seeking opportunities to add value to job outcomes.
