Job Overview

As the Chief Financial Officer at United Insurance, you will play a pivotal role in steering the financial direction of the organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Accounting department, including accounts payable and receivable, budget formulation, and audit processes.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to evaluate performance and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Direct the creation of all financial documents, such as income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax filings, and reports for regulatory bodies.
  • Analyze discrepancies between projected sales and profits against actual figures, adjusting future forecasts and budgets as necessary.
  • Review and enhance the planning process, proposing improvements to existing methodologies.
  • Examine operational structures to pinpoint areas that may require restructuring or downsizing.
  • Work closely with the President and other executives to synchronize planning efforts and establish strategic priorities.
  • Investigate long-term economic trends and assess their potential effects on future sales growth and market share.
  • Identify and support opportunities for business expansion or acquisitions.
  • Oversee the investment of corporate funds and collaborate with investment bankers to secure additional capital for growth initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is mandatory.
  • A Master's degree and/or CPA certification is preferred.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in financial management is essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word, along with experience in Accounting software.
  • Familiarity with EPIC software is advantageous.
