Job Title: Senior Cybersecurity and Compliance Consultant

Position Overview: The Senior Cybersecurity and Compliance Consultant at BDO is instrumental in assisting clients to achieve their compliance, cybersecurity, and IT control objectives. This role involves a thorough evaluation of business and technological operations, offering essential insights and solutions to reduce risks and bolster security measures in alignment with applicable frameworks. The consultant also aids clients in the execution of compliance, security, and governance initiatives, allowing them to concentrate on their primary business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engages in projects concerning PCI, data protection, compliance, governance frameworks, and assessments of IT controls.
  • Evaluates compliance and governance requirements based on established programs to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Gathers insights into clients' risk management frameworks and operational environments.
  • Identifies technical issues and offers recommendations for resolution.
  • Develops assessment reports, including gap analyses and suggested solutions.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations for client engagements.
  • Supports remediation planning and outlines client requirements for various frameworks such as PCI, ISO, NIST, and CIS.
  • Participates in client meetings, documents technical discussions, and maintains comprehensive records.
  • Fosters and maintains relationships with client personnel.
  • Effectively manages time to accommodate multiple project requests while monitoring associated risks.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Accounting, or Finance.

Experience:

A minimum of two years of experience in IT controls, Cybersecurity (NIST or CIS), HIPAA, PCI, or security compliance.Prior experience with national consulting firms or professional services is preferred.

License(s)/Certification(s):

Preferred security certifications include CISA, CISM, CISSP, or other relevant credentials.Additional certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft 365 Certified are advantageous.

Software Proficiency:

Familiarity with AWS, Google Virtual Private Cloud, Microsoft cloud services, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Visio.

Language Proficiency:

Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages (reading, speaking, and writing).

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrates a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Exhibits effective communication skills across various organizational levels.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both BDO and client personnel.
  • Possesses strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent multitasking abilities in both independent and collaborative settings.
  • Applied knowledge of technologies related to data mapping, risk assessments, third-party risk management, compliance tracking, and security controls management.
