Position Summary

STCU is looking for a Financial Advisor to deliver retirement and investment solutions in the Spokane area, primarily based at our Moran Prairie Branch. This role involves assisting employees, members, and prospective clients by evaluating their financial objectives and providing exceptional personalized service along with tailored investment products. You will leverage your sales skills and relationship-building abilities to help our members identify their financial needs and goals.

As an employee of STCU, you will also serve as a dual employee/agent of CUSO Brokerage Services, Inc. (CFS) and/or Members Trust Company (MTC), with securities industry licenses held by CFS and MTC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and nurture long-term relationships founded on trust and respect by regularly meeting with clients, conducting training sessions, and maintaining consistent office hours at designated branches.
  • Assess member and employee requirements for financial services by understanding individual objectives and formulating a personalized investment strategy.
  • Consistently meet the production, sales, and service goals set by the Program Manager.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Represent STCU and CUSO Financial Services (CFS), L.P. in accordance with NCUA guidelines in interactions with major clients, industry organizations, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

Certifications: FINRA Series 7, 63 required; Series 65 or 66 preferred. State life, accident, health, and insurance licenses are required. Certified financial planner designation is preferred. A clean U-4 is necessary, and any criminal history must be disclosed to CUSO Financial Services, LP.

Experience: A minimum of three years of licensed registered representative sales experience is required, or demonstrated ability in a related role at STCU. Previous experience in a credit union environment is preferred.

Software Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.

Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly communicate, hear, and operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse, with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds with accommodations.

Work Environment: Exposure to typical office sounds at a low to moderate level. Must be able to work in a high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Travel Requirements: Regular travel to branches within your region is necessary.
