Position Overview:

The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Pacific (NAVFAC Pacific) is seeking experienced NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) Project Managers in the Spokane commuting area for an upcoming satellite design and engineering office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evaluate environmental and planning documentation, including Environmental Assessments, Overseas Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, and Overseas Environmental Impact Statements, by conducting thorough research and fieldwork.
  • Analyze the environmental implications of military initiatives, operational exercises, construction endeavors, and force realignments.
  • Oversee and manage investigations, analyses, and the preparation of required environmental studies.
  • Provide expert consultation on environmental planning, offering professional guidance and support regarding the National Environmental Policy Act to various commands.
  • Lead a dedicated team to complete NEPA documentation while mentoring colleagues on compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act within the Navy and Marine Corps.
  • Administer contracts for environmental planning services, ensuring that task orders are technically sound, timely, and cost-effective.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $103,728 – $134,850.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a SECRET Clearance.
  • Valid State Driver's License is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Architecture, Computer Science, Mathematics, Hydrology, or Geology.
  • Registered Professional Engineer status is required if hired as an Environmental Engineer.
  • 5-10 years of experience with the National Environmental Policy Act is essential.

General Requirements for NAVFAC Positions:

  • Must be a US Citizen aged 18 or older at the time of hire.
  • Males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • Must be deemed suitable for federal employment, which includes a background check and fingerprinting.
  • New hires to the Department of the Navy must pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
