Job Summary

The Reception Services Supervisor is a key member of the Compass Group, North America team, responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the receptionists at our New York City location. This is a supervisory position reporting to the Director of Reception Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor staff to ensure that standard operating procedures are followed and bring recurring performance issues to the attention of the manager.
  • Ensure all security protocols for visitor processing and admittance are adhered to.
  • Provide client support, including answering incoming calls, welcoming clients or guests, preparing meetings rooms, monitoring shared mailboxes, and completing conference room reservations.
  • Serve as an initial escalation point for client questions or concerns and obtain event requirements from clients.
  • Audit EMS Visitor Data for the receptionist team and assist with general data auditing.
  • Provide backup to the Reception Manager in completing the weekly schedule for the receptionist team and ensure adequate receptionist coverage throughout the business day.
  • Liaise with other internal departments, such as AV and Catering, as well as external service providers, to ensure events are executed flawlessly.
  • Run daily, weekly, and monthly reports and review events calendars to ensure coverage for after-hours events as needed.
  • Monitor Welcome Center visitor badge printing supplies and general supplies needed by the receptionist team.
Requirements:
  • Minimum three years of experience in the hospitality, receptionist, or customer service fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate problems and render a seamless customer service experience.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and knowledge of EMS is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in more than one language a plus.
  • Ability to lead, manage, and inspire others, exuding teamwork and hospitality.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to business changes and challenges.
  • Previous managerial experience and/or training is a plus, as is prior experience working for Compass Group, North America.
