Safety and Compliance Technician

Position Summary
This role offers essential technical assistance within the Environmental, Health, Safety, & Security Department, aimed at supporting ongoing operations and potential growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
The EHS&S Support Specialist will be instrumental in facilitating the EHS&S functions at Lotte Chemical USA Corporation.
- Assist the Emergency Response Advisor with routine inspections of safety equipment including Fire Extinguishers, Deluge Systems, Sprinkler Systems, Medical Supplies, and HazMat Supplies.
- Engage in Emergency Response Teams during company-wide emergencies.
- Deliver on-site Emergency Medical assistance to staff and contractors.
- Support the Safety Advisor with the permitting process for Hot Work, Confined Space, and other safety-related tasks.
- Contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly safety audits and inspections alongside the Safety Advisor.
- Provide guidance to Operations, Maintenance, and Contractors regarding OSHA Regulations and site-specific procedures.
- Assist contract Security personnel as necessary.
- Support the Environmental Advisor with routine audits and inspections.
- Assist the Occupational Health Advisor with PPE Inventory and monitoring for noise and chemical exposure.
- Drive compliance with all EHS&S policies and procedures across the site.
- Conduct safety training on assigned topics as required.
- Help implement and maintain the Permit to Work program.
- Maintain relevant EHS&S logs and documentation as needed.
- Assist in selecting appropriate PPE for various tasks.
- Support industrial hygiene monitoring efforts.
- Collaborate with EHS&S team members to inspect and maintain emergency response and safety-critical equipment.
- Participate in safety reviews and management of change processes.
- Monitor tasks requiring advanced PPE.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and practices; engage in relevant safety training; demonstrate commitment to EHS&S principles and values.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management within the expected scope of this position.

Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS&S or related operations.
- Fundamental knowledge of OSHA compliance and permit systems.
- Basic understanding of Emergency Management Systems; First Responder certification or higher preferred.
- Knowledge of First Aid, CPR, Process Safety Management, Respiratory Protection, Industrial Hygiene, and HazMat protocols.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, with strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and technical writing abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and follow through on assignments.
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment.
- Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking, with the ability to communicate clearly across all organizational levels.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications in safety, PPE, permits, etc., are advantageous.
