Position Summary
CDI Engineering Solutions is seeking an Instrument Engineer to deliver technical assistance to operational, maintenance, and capital project teams.
Responsibilities
1. Plan and oversee work activities, deliver technical training, set objectives, and prioritize tasks.
2. Lead and manage engineering assignments and workloads in accordance with established engineering standards.
3. Collaborate with the instrument maintenance team and operational staff to strategize and achieve reliability goals for the facility.
4. Provide assistance to Project Engineering in specifying instrumentation for capital initiatives.
5. Evaluate project design documents to ensure compliance with reliability, application, and maintenance criteria.
6. Maintain accurate documentation for all instrumentation equipment, including files, schematics, specifications, calibration records, and manuals.
7. Work towards enhancing the reliability of process control valves.
8. Develop strategies for monitoring performance and addressing areas of concern.
9. Support maintenance in creating repair and upgrade plans for significant turnarounds.
Proficient in interpreting instrument schematics, data sheets, I/O wiring diagrams, specification sheets, loop diagrams, and P&IDs to ensure comprehensive documentation of instrument-related equipment files and calibration records.
Qualifications
1. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
2. Ability to work effectively in a team setting, manage multiple projects, and deliver clear technical presentations.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
4. Conduct responsibilities in a manner that prioritizes personal safety and the safety of all personnel on site. Promptly report any Safety, Health, or Environmental incidents to management for resolution. Participate in Monthly Safety Meetings to promote a safe working environment.
Successful candidates must pass background checks, including motor vehicle record checks, drug screenings, and pre-employment physical assessments before commencing work.
Education Requirements
B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Candidates should possess a minimum of two (2) years of industrial experience, specifically with process instrumentation and project design documentation.
