Manufacturing Process Engineer

Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing manufacturing processes and equipment efficiency. This position involves providing engineering support that encompasses design of parts and machinery, maintenance strategies, tooling solutions, and troubleshooting of production equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the installation, debugging, and qualification of new machinery, including supplier runoff and technology training.
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement by implementing lean manufacturing principles.
- Focus on Cycle Time Enhancements, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and labor efficiency.
- Assist in developing maintenance schedules and identifying replacement part needs.
- Collaborate with the planning department to budget for necessary investments and tooling for new projects.
- Engage with global departments to share insights, best practices, and lessons learned.
- Participate in team efforts to meet organizational goals.
- Work alongside design engineers to address existing part quality challenges.
- Provide technical assistance to maintenance and production teams as needed.
- Support cross-functional activities such as audits, customer visits, and quality performance reviews.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to various stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for process and equipment changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in machining processes, tooling, and equipment design and maintenance.
- Experience with CNC programming and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with press equipment and die design.
- Knowledge of high-speed assembly processes and automated testing systems.
- Understanding of PFMEA, statistical analysis, and root cause investigation.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills in an engineering context.
- Experience with robotics and AutoCAD is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of automatic transmission functionality.
- Experience in a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of achieving sustainable results in lean manufacturing.
- Experience in utilizing continuous improvement tools and facilitating Kaizen events.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds during their shift.
