Corning is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Shift Technician to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and leadership to ensure the stability and performance of our production lines.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Provide on-shift technical support and train others to technical and operational aspects of the equipment.
- Production Stability and Performance: Responsible for performance on production lines and working with technicians and operators to preserve stable, high yield performance.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve equipment issues, ranging from known maintenance needs to new, low frequency failures.
- Process Improvement: Support engineer-led process improvement activities from focused improvement portfolios.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas of improvement or ideas for continuous improvement projects and implement with help from cross-functional teams as needed.
- Equipment Maintenance: Proactively maintain line performance through process tuning and equipment repair/maintenance.
- Documentation and Reporting: Aid in creation and documentation of preventative/predictive maintenance policies and procedures, and support production reports for shift turnover, data reviews, etc.
- Education and Experience: Two (2)-year degree in Engineering Technology or related degree AND 3+ years' experience in technical manufacturing support, or 10+ years technical manufacturing support experience with proven leadership capabilities.
- Skills and Qualifications: Proven ability to learn new technology and processes quickly, dependable, highly motivated self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision, ability to lead and train others, knowledge of manufacturing and maintenance systems, strong communication skills, and experience with Computerized Maintenance Management systems (CMMS).
