Work Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional weekend shifts.

*CNC expertise is essential (some programming knowledge required)


Role Responsibilities:

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will deliver engineering support across all production operations and machinery. This role involves designing parts and machines, maintenance activities, tooling development, and troubleshooting machinery and processes. The engineer will oversee the delivery, installation, and ramp-up of new equipment as necessary while contributing to our key performance indicators (KPIs) by optimizing processes and implementing lean manufacturing principles.


Key Duties:

  • Lead the setup, debugging, and qualification of new machinery, including testing at supplier facilities and training on innovative technologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through the application of lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Focus on Cycle Time Enhancements, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and Labor Efficiency.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance schedules and replacement part requirements.
  • Plan and allocate budgets for necessary investments and tooling for new projects in collaboration with the planning team.
  • Engage with global departments to share insights, benchmarks, and best practices.
  • Participate in team efforts to meet organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to address existing part quality challenges.
  • Provide technical assistance for maintenance and production as needed.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives, including audits, customer visits, and quality performance reviews.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to various stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for changes in processes and equipment (ECRs, Work Instructions, Tool Drawings, etc.).

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 1-3 years of relevant experience in an engineering capacity or equivalent background.
  • Familiarity with machining processes, tooling (round tools, inserts, grinding wheels), and equipment (lathes, machining centers, robotics), including their design, function, and maintenance.
  • Proficient in CNC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of press machinery (Hydraulic/Mechanical/Transfer) and die design.
  • Knowledge of high-speed assembly and manufacturing processes, including vision systems and automated testing.
  • Comprehension of PFMEA, statistical analysis, and root cause investigation.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in an engineering role.
  • Familiarity with robotics and AutoCAD software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced understanding of Automatic Transmission Functionality.
  • Experience within a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Track record of achieving measurable results in a lean manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in resolving complex issues using continuous improvement methodologies and facilitating Kaizen events.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to remain on feet for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds during shifts.
