Postdoctoral Researcher in Neurotrauma - National Neurotrauma Society

The National Neurotrauma Society is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to lead and execute innovative research initiatives in collaboration with a dedicated research team. This role is integral to advancing neuroscience research within the realm of neurotrauma. The position focuses on preclinical models of traumatic brain injury (TBI) utilizing rodent subjects, emphasizing the investigation of neurotransmitter systems, particularly monoamines and acetylcholine, in the context of TBI and neurodegenerative conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scientific research projects, ensuring rigorous methodologies are followed.
  • Evaluate the applicability of diverse scientific theories and principles to potential research innovations.
  • Conduct specialized laboratory experiments, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Collect, manage, and analyze experimental data, maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Prepare findings for dissemination at scientific conferences and for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Engage in additional tasks as assigned by supervisory personnel, including mandatory training sessions.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience with rodent models, including drug administration, behavioral analysis, and histological techniques.
  • Strong foundation in relevant scientific disciplines.
  • Proficient in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Ability to secure and maintain a T1/Public Trust background clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
  • Capability to remain seated or standing at a workstation for extended periods.
  • This position is primarily laboratory-based.

Education:

  • 0-5 years of relevant experience is required.
