Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to contribute to our groundbreaking work in Genomics and Metagenomics. This role will be instrumental in developing innovative software solutions for visualizing and analyzing Next-generation Sequencing (NGS) data, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead research efforts by applying for grant funding in novel areas of Bioinformatics.
  • Design and develop cutting-edge algorithms and mathematical models to address complex problems in Genomics and NGS.
  • Spearhead the implementation of specialized software solutions tailored to solve biological challenges and enhance research infrastructure.
  • Create customized pipelines to streamline recurrent tasks in Genomics and NGS analysis.
  • Mentor and supervise junior scientists, Bioinformatics analysts, and students, providing guidance on various computing modalities, including cloud computing.
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify statistical and Bioinformatics solutions that optimize research workflows.
  • Prepare comprehensive funding documents, scientific reports, manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, and patent applications.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's or Doctoral Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Genomics, Genetics, Bioinformatics, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Bioinformatics research and development.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Java.
  • Proficiency in NGS data analysis tools and pipelines.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
