POSITION SUMMARY

We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Senior Project Engineer specializing in Water Treatment at McKim & Creed, Inc. This pivotal role allows you to contribute significantly to public health by evaluating and selecting technologies for the effective treatment and elimination of contaminants in drinking water.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee engineering responsibilities for the design, permitting, and management of water treatment facility projects.
  • Develop precise presentations, process evaluations, design specifications, and construction documentation.
  • Conduct process evaluations to compare various treatment technologies for the removal of drinking water contaminants.
  • Supervise project design teams, including engineers, designers, consultants, and clients.
  • Facilitate coordination and collaboration across different firm disciplines and with other project engineers or managers.
  • Research and ensure compliance with relevant treatment process requirements, client specifications, standards, and templates.
  • Prepare specifications, review shop drawings, and provide construction administration support.
  • Engage in periodic travel for business development and project management activities, including the preparation or review of reports and exhibits.
  • Assist in compiling documents and construction plans from all disciplines for submission to regulatory agencies.
  • Implement project quality control measures.
  • Provide weekly updates to management regarding project performance in terms of quality, status, schedule, and budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in drinking water supply, treatment, and distribution systems.
  • Professional Engineer Licensure.
  • B.S. Degree in civil, mechanical, environmental, or chemical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Strong foundation in design and value engineering, with excellent analytical problem-solving abilities and experience in regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, demonstrating proactivity and motivational skills.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality results, with a clear understanding of project timelines and budgets.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously from inception to completion.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

ADDITIONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Passion for addressing challenges in drinking water quality.
  • M.S. or PhD in relevant fields.
  • Experience with PFAS compliance initiatives.
  • Familiarity with funding processes, including SRF loans and grants for emerging contaminants.
  • Self-driven with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
