This role reports directly to the Director of Facilities Operations and involves professional technical work that coordinates intricate technical components of significant projects or operations. The position entails providing expertise in various technical domains related to Facilities Operations, managing complex technical activities within designated projects, and serving as a project administrator or leader. You will coordinate and monitor assignments from initiation to delivery, ensuring that targets and requirements are achieved while adhering to technical and agency standards. Collaboration with officials and subject matter experts is crucial for the successful integration and completion of projects and operations. Additionally, you may oversee non-technical aspects of projects alongside other project managers and facility staff, while also assisting in the development of technical guidelines and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Initiate, plan, coordinate, and supervise project assignments requiring advanced technical knowledge; Develop written specifications and identify sources for services, products, and contractors related to construction and technical operations; Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate technical specification requirements, advising management on efficient project execution; Conduct research and gather necessary technical data to evaluate plans and activities; Manage technical assignments throughout all project phases, including design, development, construction, and maintenance; Oversee projects and troubleshoot technical issues, collaborating with subject matter experts and officials; Ensure project timelines are adhered to and proactively address potential delays; Evaluate and inspect progress in assigned areas, providing reports to management; Coordinate facilities activities, asset management operations, and other related programs; Serve as the primary liaison for contractors and key personnel on projects; Analyze results, monitor progress, and manage change implementation; Develop technical guidance and training for stakeholders; Research best practices from other organizations to incorporate innovative technologies; Participate as a technical expert on cross-functional project teams; Report on progress of technical assignments and special projects to senior management; Prepare annual budgets and manage contracts; Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

A minimum of eight years of technical and professional experience in the relevant field, including one year in a supervisory role; or a Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, information technology, or a related field with four years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid Florida Driver's License or Commercial Driver's License, if applicable. Willingness to work varied schedules, including during emergencies. Certification in relevant technical areas or project management is preferred.

Desired Skills:

Ability to perform high-level administrative, technical, and supervisory tasks in facility maintenance. Experience engaging with high-level officials regarding service needs and project issues. Proficiency in developing project specifications for facility-related contracts.

Expertise in assigned technical areas; Familiarity with automated project management processes; Understanding of building design and construction procedures; Knowledge of management practices and public administration principles; Skills in problem identification and resolution; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to lead and supervise others; Proficiency in computer applications and software; Capability to manage complex projects and programs; Competence in using automated systems for information management.
