Brief description of work expected to perform:

We are replacing multiple software applications for our Human Services department; the Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating internal efforts and ensuring that vendor teams and internal divisions are integrated in the project management approach. The project Manager will collaborate with potentially multiple PMs from a software implementor and software application. This position will be responsible for:

  • Tracking deliverables and high-level schedules in ServiceNow.
  • Ensuring that all teams focused across deliverables for multiple vendors.
  • Identifying communication shortfalls and working to improve communications across all information exchange mediums. Innovative methods and ideas are necessary for high performing teams as part of this engagement.
  • Ensuring Pinellas County meets all the responsibilities for the engagement, including Subject Matter Expert contributions from our Human Services Department, technical deliverables such as data conversions, integrations and other technical requirements as needed.
  • Overseeing internal team member contributions.
  • Track budgetary expenditures.
  • Has successfully managed vendor contracts including milestone verification, milestone payments and contract closeout.
  • Coordinating meetings with partners, team members and vendors.
  • Review documentation from vendor and internal teams.
  • Develop comprehensive training plans for key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams on Organizational Change Management planning.
  • Identify, track, and manage project risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedules and project costs using appropriate techniques, product development concepts, methodologies, and processes.
  • Develop and maintain tools to improve the efficiency of performing project work.


Top Skills (cannot live without):

  • Successful experience managing large, complex IT projects, and working with technical teams including solution architects, software developers, database administrators and cloud practitioners.
  • Senior Project Management skills including professional Project Management training or certifications from the Project Management Institute or comparable institution.
  • Experience with the Service Now tool, specifically in the Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) suite.
  • Solid understanding and experience with multiple software development approaches including Agile Software development, Waterfall, and Hybrid.
  • Healthcare or Social Services Experience.
  • Successful history of facilitating consensus between internal and external (vendor) teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of stakeholders from staff to Directors, Executive Leadership, and external partners.
  • Experience in coordinating project meetings and facilitating the completion of project deliverables, scope, and deadlines.
  • Highly capable in using software tools for supporting documentation including Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Project, Visio, and Kanban boards.
