Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Maintenance Manager to join our team at The Salvation Army USA Western Territory. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation of our environmental, mechanical, and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain the environmental and protection systems for our facilities, performing scheduled preventative maintenance and general maintenance on mechanical/electrical systems, HVAC systems, and life safety equipment.
  • Respond to facility alarms, mechanical/electrical system failures, and incidents during regular hours and after hours, filing proper incident reports.
  • Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety Legislation, guidelines, standards, policies, procedures, and practices, understanding building codes.
  • Oversee Maintenance Department employee schedules and duties as needed.
  • Provide technical support and create scopes of work for repairs, projects, and services contracts for equipment for all facilities assigned to you.
  • Work closely with other staff members to prescribe daily, weekly, monthly reports on equipment, utilizing the Up Keep program to its full potential in our facilities.
  • Follow established protocols for the periodic check of systems and the servicing of emergency lights, water heaters, security systems, fire systems, and HVAC equipment.
  • Develop skills, attend continuing education sessions, and attain personal qualifications standards to ensure technical competency and teamwork required to provide quality service.
  • Organize and assist with the set-up of all events.
  • Travel within the assigned area and perform any maintenance services as requested.
Requirements
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalency, Journeyman Electrical license preferred and/or alternative contractor certification or license.
  • Minimum 2 years plumbing, electrical, HVAC, landscaping experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work without supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Ability to reason and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks at once.
  • Must be willing to work a varied shift (nights, weekends, etc.).
  • May be required to work flexible hours, weekends, and evenings.
  • Be self-motivated and self-directed with the ability and desire to take projects from beginning through completion.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to carry out multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Must have a Smart Phone.
  • Must be able to operate a Laptop or Tablet.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects.
  • Ability to reach overhead.
  • Ability to operate telephone.
  • Ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
  • Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer.
