Job Title: Head Preschool Educator

This role is designed for a leader in a classroom catering to children aged 18 months to 2.5 years.

Qualifications

Professional:

Minimum requirement of a High School diploma or GED

CDA or an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related discipline

Current Infant/Child/Adult CPR & First Aid certification

Basic computer skills for navigation

Personal:

Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid state ID or driver's license.

Ability to relate sensitively to individuals of all ages and diverse backgrounds

Demonstrate a solid understanding of child development principles

Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with parents and colleagues

Utilize supervision constructively and collaborate as part of a team

Willingness to enhance qualifications through ongoing professional development

Physical:

Capable of performing physical tasks such as mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, sanitizing materials, and changing pull-ups

Able to lift at least 25 pounds

Capable of safely carrying classroom cots and children as necessary

Able to rearrange furniture as required

Comfortable standing and sitting on the floor for extended periods

Responsibilities:

Classroom Management:
  1. Ensure a welcoming environment for each child. Greet every parent and child upon arrival and departure.
  2. Return all unused supplies to the designated storage area as needed.
  3. Collaborate with the Assistant Teacher to ensure the classroom meets all licensing, safety, and health standards. This includes maintaining cleanliness and safety of materials and equipment.
  4. Perform daily cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing.
  5. Attend to children's basic needs, providing support for their physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development.
Professional Conduct:
  1. Exemplify appropriate behavior and communication at all times for children to observe and learn from.
  2. Engage in effective and positive communication with adults, using professional language and clear enunciation.
  3. Inform the Director and classroom staff promptly of any unexpected absences.
  4. Complete incident reports when requested by the Director.
  5. Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities, following the plan established with the Director.
  6. Check personal mailbox daily upon arrival and departure.
  7. Engage in school events, such as open houses and classroom programs, as directed.
  8. Adhere to all Employee Policies and Procedures and follow the Director's guidance.
Curriculum Implementation:
  1. Work alongside the Assistant Teacher and Curriculum Coach to deliver a developmentally appropriate educational program aligned with the Premier philosophy and curriculum.
  2. Collaborate closely with the Assistant Teacher to understand the program's goals and objectives.
  3. Follow the established daily schedule.
  4. Implement the outlined lesson plans.
