About the Role:

The Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) provides support services to individuals with severe mental illness and who may be dually diagnosed. This role is a fully integrated Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) Member who provides highly individualized services in the community, promoting recovery and self-determination for members served by ACTT.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support services to individuals with severe mental illness and who may be dually diagnosed.
  • Work under the direction of the ACTT Team Lead to provide highly individualized services in the community.
  • Promote recovery and self-determination for members served by ACTT.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certified as a Peer Support Specialist in North Carolina is required.
  • No experience required, but a minimum of one to three years experience preferred working with adults who have a mental illness and/or substance abuse diagnosis.
