Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team at SouthLight Healthcare. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will work with clients in a community-based setting to promote independent living skills, self-advocacy, and wellness management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote independent living skills through modeling, feedback, and support to individuals around housing needs.
  • Assist clients with self-determination and decision-making.
  • Model recovery values, attitudes, beliefs, and personal actions to encourage wellness.
  • Teach and promote self-advocacy and wellness management.
  • Provide linkage to community resources.
  • Maintain and submit required documentation (treatment plans, WRAP, service notes, service authorization requests).

Requirements:

  • Current Peer Support Certification.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year working with the adult Mental Health/Substance Use population, preferably in a community setting.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to frequent change in work flow based on client need and service structure.
