Position Summary

We are seeking an Expert Lighting Artist to contribute to our innovative projects in a dynamic studio environment. This role involves collaborating closely with the Project Art Director, as well as the cinematic and environment teams, to create cohesive visual experiences that enhance gameplay.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive lighting pipeline for the project.
  • Engage in daily tasks related to lighting for missions, open-world scenarios, and cinematic sequences.
  • Assist in the formulation of color scripts as required.
  • Establish workflows and best practices for the lighting department.
  • Ensure artistic consistency with the established visual style of the game.
  • Collaborate with design teams to refine mission and environmental flow.
  • Coordinate with directors and production teams to estimate and schedule tasks.
  • Partner with technical artists to innovate and enhance lighting techniques.
  • Prepare briefs for collaboration with external vendors and review their work as needed.
  • Guide and mentor fellow lighting artists, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
Qualifications
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects.
  • Strong understanding of both real-time and baked lighting techniques.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in lighting for games, VFX, or film.
  • A robust portfolio showcasing your lighting expertise.
  • In-depth knowledge of lighting tools and workflows in UE5.
  • Expertise in direct and indirect lighting, luminance, and color theory.
  • A keen eye for translating narrative elements into effective lighting scenarios.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback in a professional manner.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic 3D modeling skills.
  • Experience with practical lighting techniques in film.
