Position Summary

We are seeking an Expert Lighting Artist to enhance our studio's efforts on Project Orion, the anticipated sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 and the next installment in the Cyberpunk series. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of lighting techniques and appreciate its critical role in achieving a polished final product. Collaboration with the Project Art Director, as well as the cinematic and environment teams, will be essential to create cohesive visuals, clarity, and dynamic action.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently and collaboratively establish an efficient lighting pipeline for the project.
  • Engage in lighting tasks across mission, open world, and cinematic environments.
  • Contribute to the development of color scripts as required.
  • Formulate workflows and best practices for the lighting department.
  • Ensure artistic consistency with the established visual style of the game.
  • Collaborate with design teams to refine mission and environmental flow.
  • Coordinate with directors and production to assess and plan tasks.
  • Partner with technical artists to innovate or enhance lighting techniques.
  • Draft and prepare briefs for collaboration with external vendors, reviewing their work as necessary.
  • Guide and mentor fellow lighting artists, fostering a culture of creativity, trust, and excellence.
Qualifications
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, identifying and managing tasks effectively.
  • Strong understanding of both real-time and pre-rendered lighting.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in lighting for games, VFX, or film.
  • A robust portfolio showcasing lighting expertise.
  • Extensive knowledge of lighting tools and workflows in UE5.
  • Deep understanding of direct and indirect lighting, luminance, and color theory.
  • Ability to translate narrative elements into effective lighting scenarios.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
  • Capacity to provide and receive constructive feedback in a professional manner.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic 3D modeling skills.
  • Experience with practical lighting techniques in film.
