Position SummaryWe are seeking an Expert Lighting Artist to contribute to our innovative projects, specifically Project Orion, the next installment in the Cyberpunk franchise. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of lighting techniques and appreciate its critical role in enhancing the overall visual experience. This role involves close collaboration with the Project Art Director and various teams to ensure cohesive visual storytelling and clarity.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and refine a comprehensive lighting pipeline in collaboration with other leads and directors.
- Engage in daily tasks related to lighting for missions, open-world environments, and cinematic sequences.
- Assist in the formulation of color scripts as required.
- Establish workflows and best practices for the lighting department.
- Maintain artistic consistency aligned with the game's defined visual style.
- Collaborate with design teams to enhance mission and environmental flow.
- Coordinate with directors and production teams to plan and estimate workload.
- Partner with technical artists to innovate and improve lighting techniques.
- Prepare briefs for external vendors and oversee their work as needed.
- Guide and mentor fellow lighting artists, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, take ownership of tasks, and deliver results.
- Comprehensive understanding of both real-time and pre-rendered lighting.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in lighting for games, visual effects, or film.
- A strong portfolio showcasing lighting expertise.
- In-depth knowledge of lighting tools and workflows in UE5.
- Expertise in direct and indirect lighting, as well as color theory.
- Ability to translate narrative elements into effective lighting scenarios.
- Strong communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
- Capable of providing and receiving constructive feedback.
- Basic 3D modeling skills.
- Experience with practical lighting techniques in film.
This position is based in Boston, US, and requires in-office work in either a hybrid or full-time capacity.
