We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Coordinator to join our Surgical Admissions team. This full-time role will primarily work on-site, providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities- Function as a central point of communication for the unit, providing timely and accurate information to patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Provide customer service for patients, visitors, guests, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team, promoting a patient-centered environment.
- Facilitate the nursing unit activities by accurately and efficiently performing non-clinical tasks to support patient care and service.
- Perform general receptionist and clerical duties for the unit, including coordinating patient admissions, transfers, and discharges within EPIC and direct patient service.
- Coordinate obtaining and maintaining designated supplies, equipment, and inventory for the unit.
- Provide basic technical support and maintenance of computer functions.
- Serve as a resource for healthcare team members, assisting them in navigating the electronic health record.
- Monitor, facilitate, and act on orders.
- One year of office clerical experience, or approved education, or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with an electronic health record, Epic experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work cohesively and respectfully with a diverse workforce and patient population in a patient-centered work environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks and duties simultaneously in response to patient/family and healthcare team needs.
- Ability to effectively communicate information verbally and in writing, as well as the ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to meet quality and productivity standards, including accuracy in patient registrations and scheduling, as well as customer service expectations.
This role will primarily work on-site at our Downtown Campus in Minneapolis, MN.
