Pediatric Sedation Nurse Practitioner Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Sedation Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Lifespan. As a key member of our Pediatric Sedation/PICC Service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality sedation and vascular access services to patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of patients in partnership with the Sedation team to optimize safe sedation delivery and vascular access.
  • Develop, validate, implement, and evaluate standards, policies, procedures, and critical paths to support the delivery of safe pediatric sedation and vascular access services.
  • Provide expert consultation for clinical issues, promoting increased knowledge and skills for the consultee.
  • Facilitate patient/family education in area of expertise.
Requirements:
  • Masters of Science Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Specialty certification required.
  • Two years related experience as RN in acute care hospital setting and preferred 1-2 years experience as a nurse practitioner.
  • Preference for peri-procedural or critical care areas.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

General hospital environment with occasional stressful conditions associated with patient care.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.
