Job Overview

Join WSP as a Senior Site Civil Engineer / Project Manager within our dynamic Design Team. This role offers the flexibility to work from either our Phoenix or Tucson locations.

Our clientele encompasses various governmental bodies, including the US Air Force and the National Park Service, alongside prominent industrial and commercial clients.

This position involves engaging in a wide range of project types, such as transportation, mining, land development, water/wastewater management, and environmental initiatives.

We are in search of a proactive project manager who thrives in multidisciplinary settings and is eager to cultivate new client relationships.

Our ideal candidate is a Seller/Doer, passionate about tackling technical challenges, leading teams, and driving business development. A solid background in engineering design and construction documentation is essential.

Existing connections with architectural firms, land developers, and governmental agencies will be advantageous.

This role offers opportunities for advancement by managing larger multidisciplinary teams across the organization.
Your Contributions

  • Lead and potentially oversee multidisciplinary engineering design teams.
  • Drive business development and manage project delivery within a collaborative environment.
  • Create design drawings and specifications for civil work, including grading, stormwater management, and utility coordination.
  • Conduct design calculations, prepare quantity take-offs, and generate construction cost estimates.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff members.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  • If based in Tucson, occasional travel to Phoenix will be required for team collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience.
  • PE license is preferred but not mandatory (licenses in AZ, UT, MT, CO, NV, and/or NM are beneficial).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, especially the Civil 3D platform.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver projects effectively within a team.
  • Strong business development capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
