Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to oversee our initiatives in Georgia at Common Cause, advancing our national mission at the state level. This role involves cultivating a robust and sustainable organization, spearheading impactful public policy campaigns through comprehensive policy analysis, research, advocacy, grassroots mobilization, and effective communication strategies.

Key Responsibilities
The Chief Executive Officer will have the opportunity to craft a visionary approach for our operations in Georgia and implement programs that align with this vision.

This is a significant opportunity to be a pivotal advocate for democracy reforms within the state while enhancing our membership base and managing a high-performing team.

Strategic Leadership
- Formulate and direct our Georgia strategy for policy advocacy and community organizing with a focus on racial equity.
- Design and implement proactive and defensive policy initiatives that prioritize racial equity.
- Champion our campaigns in accordance with the Common Cause agenda and our nonpartisan mission.
- Develop and execute lobbying strategies to promote reform and hold decision-makers accountable.
- Supervise Common Cause's initiatives in the state, addressing critical issues such as voting rights, redistricting, and campaign finance.
- Ensure the production of high-quality policy research.

Community Engagement
- Drive outreach efforts and establish strategic partnerships.
- Lead and engage in existing coalitions to further our objectives, while also creating new coalitions as necessary.
- Act as the spokesperson for Common Cause, engaging with media, government officials, and the public.
- Foster engagement with members and the community through various communication channels.

Team Development
- Manage the Georgia team by collaboratively setting objectives, coaching team members, and supporting their professional growth.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively to ensure the achievement of team goals.
- Oversee the work of consultants, volunteers, and interns as required.

Administrative Oversight
- Manage the operational aspects of the Georgia team, including budget oversight.
- Build and maintain a diverse state advisory board to support program and fundraising efforts.
- Collaborate with Common Cause staff nationwide.

Fundraising Initiatives
- Develop strategies to secure funding for Common Cause programs, including advocacy efforts.
- Cultivate relationships with foundations, major donors, and members to enhance fundraising outcomes.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A strong commitment to the nonpartisan mission of Common Cause and advancing racial equity.
- Proven ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience leading public interest advocacy campaigns, particularly in legislative contexts.
- Familiarity with Georgia's political landscape and existing relationships with key stakeholders.

Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary range of $110,000 - $130,000 annually, based on experience.
- Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, retirement savings plan, generous paid time off, and professional development funds.
