Role Summary:

As the Chief Engineering Officer at Augmentjobs, you will take charge of the engineering division, steering the technical vision and execution to foster innovation and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Direction: Formulate and execute the engineering vision and strategy in line with corporate goals. Lead the engineering team towards achieving both immediate and long-term objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Cultivate, mentor, and oversee a high-achieving engineering team. Promote a cooperative and inventive workplace, providing direction and support to team members.
  • Project Management: Supervise the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects. Ensure that projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and on budget.
  • Technical Guidance: Offer technical leadership and insights across all engineering initiatives. Stay informed about industry trends and new technologies to promote innovation and ongoing enhancement.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Partner with other divisions, including product management, design, and operations, to ensure cohesive integration and alignment of engineering activities with business requirements.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement enhancements to improve engineering efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure compliance with best practices and standards in engineering processes.
  • Resource Management: Effectively manage engineering resources, including budgeting, staffing, and tool acquisition. Ensure optimal resource utilization to meet project needs.
  • Performance Evaluation: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for engineering projects and team effectiveness. Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and enhance outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2 to 5 years in an engineering leadership position, demonstrating a successful history of managing and scaling engineering teams and projects.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong foundation in engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices. Proficiency in relevant programming languages and technologies.
  • Leadership Abilities: Outstanding leadership qualities with the capacity to inspire, motivate, and guide a diverse engineering team. Proven experience in building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Project Oversight: Demonstrated ability to oversee complex engineering projects from initiation to completion. Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to identify challenges, devise solutions, and implement improvements in a dynamic setting.
  • Flexibility: Ability to excel in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment. Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and technological advancements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees or certifications in engineering management or technology are advantageous.
  • Industry Background: Experience in a relevant industry or sector is preferred.
