As a Senior Residential Support Specialist, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, committed to delivering high-quality care in a residential addiction treatment setting. Your role will involve continuous patient care, supervision, and interaction, while also serving as a role model for patients. You will assist the Residential Aide Manager in overseeing daily operations, including teammate scheduling, training, and performance monitoring. This position requires a strong commitment to maintaining the structure and integrity of the treatment program, along with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a behavioral healthcare environment
  • Intermediate understanding of addiction and the recovery process
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Teams, Word)
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (can be obtained upon hire)
  • MANDT/CPI certification (can be obtained upon hire)
  • Valid driver's license in good standing and insurable by the designated carrier
  • Willingness to travel locally up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a behavioral science discipline from an accredited institution
  • Certification in addiction training, Certified Medical Assistant, or completion of DBHDS approved MAT
  • Experience in a leadership role
  • Familiarity with regulations and standards related to infection control, quality assurance, and patient care compliance
  • Coursework in mental health, including crisis intervention

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients and teammates, fostering a positive and structured environment
  • Act as a resource for new patients, guiding them through the treatment process and encouraging participation
  • Engage actively as part of the treatment team, providing continuous care and supervision
  • Exhibit a positive, empathetic, and professional demeanor towards patients and colleagues
  • Implement de-escalation techniques and maintain appropriate boundaries while promoting a supportive culture
  • Identify crisis situations and respond appropriately based on training and experience
  • Collaborate with teammates to maintain the safety and security of the facility
  • Conduct safety rounds to prioritize patient safety
  • Facilitate patient educational and recovery support groups covering various topics
  • Assist in planning and leading structured recreational activities for patients
  • Document patient records accurately and in a timely manner
  • Provide transportation for patients as needed
  • Monitor self-administration of medication and track medication records
  • Conduct inspections of patient rooms and collaborate with leadership to address any concerns
  • Participate in team meetings and maintain ongoing training for best practices
  • Support the Residential Aide Manager in leading the team and ensuring compliance with treatment protocols
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
